Terms & Conditions

Enrolment procedures

Participants will be required to fill in an Australian Testing Services enrolment form when signing up to start a course.  Fees are to be paid in full at the start of any new course or by alternative arrangements made only with Australian Testing Services Manager. 

Students must bring at least one form of Photo Identification that will need to be sighted on enrolment.  Cancellations of fees apply in some circumstances where students fail to notify Australian Testing Services of withdrawing from a course.  [See fees and Charges policy below]

Where there is a limit to the number of places that are available for selection by potential clients, the following selection process will apply:

  • Only applicants who meet the requirements for course entry as set out in the training package or accredited course will be accepted. 
  • Where applicants do not have the prerequisite requirements for course entry they may be offered an alternative course more appropriate to their skill level, or will be advised of other training providers who could assist them in gaining the prerequisite skills.
  • Where there are more applicants meeting course entry requirements than there are available places, applicants will be accepted on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.  Persons not accepted on this basis will be placed, in order, on a waiting list in case one or more persons accepted into the program subsequently withdraw.

Fees and charges, refund policy

The Australian Testing Services Registered Training Organisation reserves the right to cancel/postpone a course in the event of unforseen circumstances or insufficient numbers. Every effort will be made to ensure that participants of cancelled/postponed courses receive placement in the next available course.

Where a course is cancelled/postponed by Australian Testing Services Registered Training Organisation and the participant elects not to receive placement in the next available course, or an alternative course, a full refund will be made.

 Cancellation must be received one week prior to the commencement of the course. Written advice should be directed to the Training Manager. Full refund will apply with adequate notice.

 

It is regretted that NO REFUND can be made for cancellations received less than one week of commencement or after the commencement of the course.

No refunds will be given for partial cancellation of enrolments.

A transfer of course registration can be made up to one week prior to commencement of the course. Advice must be in writing and directed to the Manager.

Where a student requires Australian Testing Services to issue additional Certificates or Statements of Attainment after the first one has been issued, an administration fee will apply.

Attendance Requirement

You will need to attend 100% of the training in order to successfully complete the full training as required.  Those who miss any part of the training may be given the opportunity to re-sit the part missed in other classes however this decision is to be made by the training manager on a case by case basis.  All absences requesting the opportunity to resit a class or assessment must be submitted to the Training Manager in writing. 

 

Appeals and complaints procedures

A complaint or appeal is deemed to be dissatisfaction with the procedures, outcomes or the quality of service provided by employees of (RTO)  in relation to the following processes:

  • enrolment
  • training delivery
  • training/competency assessment, including recognition of prior learning
  • issuing of results, certificates and/or statements of attainment
  • any other activities associated with the delivery of training and assessment services
  • other issues such as discrimination, sexual harassment, student amenities, etc.

 

A grievance, complaint or appeal is deemed to be a formal complaint or appeal when it is made in writing to the training manager.

An appeals committee would comprise at least three of the following people; providing that the complainant and the subject of the complaint, if it relates to the action or inaction of a person, are ineligible to participate in the appeals committee set up to consider that particular complaint:

  • the training manager
  • a representative of the trainee's employer
  • an external person

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Australian Testing Services aims to ensure that an individual’s prior learning is recognised, irrespective of where or how the learning has taken place.

Recognition of prior learning (RPL) is the acknowledgement of the full range of an individual’s skills and knowledge, irrespective of how it has been acquired.  It includes competencies gained through formal study, work experience and other ‘life’ experience.  If you believe you have the relevant skills and/or experience please inform your trainer or complete the RPL application form out at the end of this document.

 

Mutual Recognition – Credit Transfer

All AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by other registered training organisations will be fully recognised by Australian Testing Services.

Flexible Learning and Assessment Procedures

All assessment is based on clearly documented criteria, and is undertaken through appropriate assessment methods which will ensure that accurate judgments can be made as to the standard achieved.  In doing this one or more of the following assessment methods may be used:

  • Assignment
  • Class presentation
  • Testing
  • Essay/Report writing
  • Practical Exercise
  • Practical Demonstration
  • Examination
  • Research Study or Major Study
  • Re –Assessment

 

Privacy Policy

Australian Testing Services has adopted a privacy policy as we recognise the right of our students  to keep their personal information private.  This Privacy Policy covers Australian Testing Services  treatment of personally identifiable information that we collect or hold.  Like many other organisations, Australian Testing Services must comply with the National Privacy Principles contained in the Privacy Act when dealing with personal information.

Access to your information

You can request access to the personal information that Australian Testing Services holds about you by contacting the Australian Testing Services Management as set out below. We will provide you with access to your personal information unless we are legally authorised to refuse your request. We may charge a reasonable amount for providing access. If you wish to change personal information that is out of date or inaccurate at any time please contact us.

Except as required under the Standards for Registered Training Organisations or by law, information about a client is not disclosed to a third party without the written consent of the client.

Australian Testing Services Code of Conduct

Australian Testing Services is committed to providing a learning environment that values diversity, offers equal opportunity to all students and staff, and is free from harassment and discrimination.

At Australian Testing Services students and staff can expect that, in applying to study, work and participate in any activity:

  • they are not treated unfairly because of their sex, martial status,  sexual orientation, race, disability, age, physical features, religious belief or activity, political belief or activity;
  • they are not harassed (made to feel intimidated, offended or humiliated) because of any of the above grounds;
  • they are not subject to sexual harassment;
  • they receive appropriate flexibility e.g. learning disability, or for a family or cultural responsibilities;
  • Concerns regarding discriminatory treatment or harassment are dealt with promptly, fairly and impartially.

 

Students and staff are also expected to make sure their own behaviours do not result in other students or staff feeling intimidated, humiliated or offended. Australian Testing Services encourages and will support actions by students and staff who feel that they have experienced discrimination or harassment in any Australian Testing Services activities.  Students and staff have the opportunity to lodge a grievance or complaint.
